Snow Sniveling
Just as I finished the video for my column this week, called SNOW SNIVELING, it began to snow like crazy, I mean inches, outside the window here at my in-laws’ place on Martha’s Vineyard. We’re actually staying an extra day due to a canceled flight, but that’s just fine, as I had a ton of work to complete, and now I will travel once it’s all done, thus minimizing my stress in a serious way. I do, of course, have proof of what a wuss I am in the cold weather, and am “almost” embarrassed to be posting this video of me bitching and whining about the cold. Almost. So, here it is!
Today we are heading to a neighbor’s home for traditional English tea, the warmth of which I will appreciate even more now that it’s blustery and freezing outside. They only live down the street, but it will be a trek, I’m sure. Regarding the whole New Year’s Eve thing, the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of milestones achieved in 2008 is travel, as I went to Japan, Spain, and Portugal this year. It doesn’t look like we’ll do any international travel in 2009, thinking of saving money, and will instead make a few extra trips back east, especially New York, as I haven’t been back there in over two years. Wish me luck with traveling tomorrow, I hope we don’t have any weather holdovers. It will be nice to be home, in my own soft bed, working from my own office, and getting back into a workout routine. My body and soul can use all of the above. Now, have a HAPPY NEW YEAR and I’ll give you a shout out soon.
