I am amazed and overwhelmed at the response I’ve been getting to my cover story about what it is like to be fat, and to lose weight. After reading the last few comments (they keep coming!), I got all choked up and sobbed at my laptop. It’s just all so… well, overwhelming, as I mentioned already. I was really, really nervous about putting myself out there, about admitting and then elaborating on the very thoughts and feelings I used to pretend didn’t exist to everyone around me. To be so nervous, to have braced myself for the worst, and then receive instead such a powerfully positive response is, I’ll say it again, overwhelming. To everyone who reads my words, to all of you who are my friends by virtue of the fact that you care and check in with me by following my stories, THANK YOU. I would not be feeling so wonderful and loved right now if it weren’t for you, out there, receiving my thoughts, which in some way, makes them more real to me. THANK YOU. I’m, well, you already know what I am.
