Me, nekkid

Yeah, yeah, so in my COLUMN this week, I wrote about “breaking” into my mom’s house to do a little skinny dipping in her jacuzzi. I called it MICE AT PLAY, and think the metaphor works, even though we had a standing invitation from the cat herself. No video this week, that teaser pic beside my column on on main column page is enough nakedness for one week, thank you. Last week my column did not appear due to a fuck-up on the printing end. Don’t worry, won’t happen again. Now, on to some fun news!

I will be MC-ing this years Orchids & Onions Award Ceremony. From what I understand, I am the first female MC in its history. For those of you not familiar, O&O is a very cool deal, people choose the best AND worst designs in the city, and orchids (best) and onions (worst) are presented to the “winners.” And this year, at On Broadway, I’ll be doing the presenting. And more. Ooh, I can’t wait! The show is on November 12, and it’s going to be fun. So get your nominations in for best and worst as soon as you can!

In other fun, indirect news, the wonderful woman we hired to do our walls is on that HGTV show Design Star. Her name is Jen (that’s her on the link), and regardless of what happens on the show, we are VERY happy with the way our walls turned out. Now, for even MORE fun news, a good friend of mine just got signed to write a movie for Angelina Jolie. That’s HUGE for her, and she is more than deserving, quite a rock-star in the writing world. I couldn’t be more happy for her recent graduation to the A-list. We drank champagne in celebration last week, but more drinking must be done, so we’re scheduling a wine tour up north. I still can’t believe I’ve been to the vineyards in Italy, Spain, and France, but not right here in California, my home-freakin’-state.

This weekend, I’m going to a wedding at the Wild Animal Park, and I’m looking forward to it for many reasons (not the least of which are the animals). More on that later. What else? Ah, yes, tomorrow I’m getting my hair done, looking for another change-up. Tonight I’ll be on the radio (KOGO), and my next spot on NBC will August 13, which gives me a bit of downtime this week. I could use that, downtime. Big time. But with so much going on, all this fun and positive, people-getting-closer-to-their-goals kind of stuff, who wants to sit around and relax? Not me. Okay, maybe a little, but there’s a buzz in the air, and I find it energizing.
